The goal of Jews Can Shoot is to motivate and inspire a community that stands for our inalienable right to self-defense, to accept personal responsibility for our survival.
Jews Can Shoot is the only pro-gun Jewish organization that not only talks the talk but walks the walk by offering firearms instruction by professional, experienced firearms instructors. Jews Can Shoot works to encourage Jews to come out of the “shtetl” and let the world know that we are armed and we are victims no more. Jews Can Shoot fully supports our inalienable right to self-defense and is protected by the Constitution of the United States in the Second Amendment of the Bill of Rights.
Life for Jews around the world has become more dangerous. Although Jews in the United States feel a greater sense of security, the rise of Jew-hatred here is still alarming. Jews who do not know effective self-defense will not truly be equipped to enforce the slogan, “NEVER AGAIN!”
We lock our front doors and our cars; we protect our property. That’s common sense, isn’t it? Then why give less priority to the idea of protecting ourselves and our loved ones?
Our aim is not only to ensure that participants learn safe, responsible and legal gun ownership, but also to empower citizens in a world in which we too often feel helpless and overwhelmed. What you learn at Jews Can Shoot will be the beginning of an entirely new outlook. It will give you more confidence and control over your life in uncertain times. It will prepare you to protect yourself, your loved ones, and your property.
We believe that “Never Again” should be a call to action, not just a slogan. And that is why Children of Jewish Holocaust Survivors created Jews Can Shoot.
Since our first class in 2013, Jews Can Shoot has been overwhelmed by the positive response from people eager to receive training to defend themselves – not to mention actively exercise their Second Amendment rights.
Jews Can Shoot is an initiative started and organized by Doris Wise Montrose, Founder and President of Children of Jewish Holocaust Survivors (www.CJHSLA.com) in response to the efforts to restrict and infringe on the Second Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America.
Ze’ev Jabotinsky – Jewish author, soldier, and founder of the Jewish Self-Defense Organization – tried for years to warn his fellow Polish Jews of the coming storm. His call to arms was “Jewish youth, learn to shoot.” But he was dismissed by Jewish organizations as an extremist. Imagine how differently the course of history might have run had those six million Jews listened to the “extremist” and refused to allow their arms to be confiscated by the government.
Jews Can Shoot proves that we have, in fact, learned from history.
